AutoNaut

AutoNaut is a wave-powered unmanned surface vessel (USV) developed by MOST Autonomous Vessels Limited, in England. The craft's electronics are powered by a solar panel augmented by a 45 watt methanol fuel cell when required. The boat has been fitted with acoustic sensors and two GoPro HD cameras for service with UK's National Oceanography Centre (NOC).

In addition to performing oceanographic research, AutoNaut can also serve as a surface communications link with unmanned underwater vehicles, transmitting data by means of the Iridium satellite network.

The USV moves via wave power at 2-3 knots for long endurance voyages of more than three months.
