HUGIN AUV

The HUGIN Autonomous Underwater Vehicle is built by Kongsberg Maritime.  Two variants are available with depth ratings to 1000 or 3000 meters.  The AUV can carry a variety of payloads for sub-sea sensing, mine countermeasures, or anti-submarine warfare.

HUGIN was originally developed in 1995 by a consortium including Statoil, Norwegian Defence Research Establishment (FFI), Norsk Undervannsintervensjon (NUI) and Kongsberg.  The vehicles are in service with the Royal Norwegian and Finnish Navies.
