Dash X

Dash X is an unmanned aerial vehicle created through a joint venture between Northrop Grumman and VX Aerospace. The expendable surveillance, intelligence, and reconnaissance vehicle could be dropped from the U.S. Navy's EA-18G Growler Block II upgrade. The UAV will be carried in a SUU-66/B Tactical Munitions Dispenser. Once jettisoned from the canister, its wings will unfold and it will relay data back to the aircraft. The slow speed (70 miles per hour) vehicle should be a challenge for existing air defense systems which are calibrated to fire on much higher speed threats.
